Creamed Beef and Avocado (1964)

"Here's a breakfast dish that's special enough to serve at a party brunch, yet easy enough to make for the family as a weekday treat."

Tear 1/4 pound of dried beef into pieces and cook in 1/4 cup butter until slightly frizzled. Stir in 3 tablespoons flour, 2 cups milk, 1 bouillon cube, and salt and pepper to taste.  Cook until smooth and thick.

Keep warm while making 6 pieces of toast, and peeling and slicing 1 large avocado.  Arrange sliced avocado on toast. Over this, pour the creamed dried beef.

Another avocado may be sliced and used as garnish. Makes 6 servings.
