- 8 cups fresh California peaches, sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 tbspn lemon juice
- 1/2 tspn nutmeg
- 1/4 tspn almond extract
- 1 package, pie crust mix
- 3 tbspns butter
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine peaches, sugar, flour, lemon juice, nutmeg, and almond extract.
Prepare pie crust mix as package directs. Roll out on flour board to 20-inch square. Trim edges straight; save trimmings.
Place crust in 10-inch square skillet or baking pan. Allow corner of crust to hang over each side. Fill with peaches, and dot with butter. Fold corners of crust over.
Reroll trimmings, and cut out leaves. Place along edge of crust, securing with water. Bake 50 to 55 minutes. Makes one 10-inch square pie.
