- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbspn fat
- Onions
- Carrots
- Pepper to taste
"Cut steak into serving pieces, salt and pepper, and roll in flour. Pound in flour with the edge of a heavy pan.
"Brown in fat, and add some sliced onions and carrots. Cover and simmer until tender. Make a milk gravy of drippings left in pan, and pour over steak."
