Original Betty Crocker White Butter Yolk Icing (1950)

Blend together, for a large cake...

  • 4 tbspns soft shortening
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 3 cups sifted confectioner's sugar
  • 3 tbspns cream (about)
  • 1-1/2 tspns vanilla
"The egg yolk adds flavor and richness."
