- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 tbspns buttermilk
- 1/2 cup ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 3/4 tspn baking soda
- 1 tspn salt
Cream shortening and sugar. Add the liquid ingredients, then the dry ingredients.
Pour into greased loaf pan, and bake at 350 degrees 45 to 60 minutes. 1/2 cup chopped nuts can be added, if desired.
