Fricasseed French Green Beans (1841)

"Boil one quart of green beans until soft. 

"Strain off the water, put them in a sauce-pan with half a pint of sweet cream, a little salt, and grated nutmeg, sprinkle over a little flour, and let them stew for ten minutes."
