Crispy Butterscotch Cookies (1984)

  • 1 6-oz package butterscotch morsels
  •  3/4 cup butter
  • 2 tbspns boiling water
  • 1 tspn baking soda
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 tspn salt
Melt butterscotch morsels and butter over hot water. Add boiling water and baking soda, and mix well.

Gradually blend in rolled oats, flour, sugar, and salt. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes between 5 to 6 dozen.
